Two north coast artists have spent 14 months collaborating on a project that combined their talents and spanned continents. Rhonda Grudenic came to realize that the rags she used to create her paintings were objects of beauty in their own right, and that they should be used rather than discarded. Thus, the idea for the prayer flags was born and she decided to share these paint saturated fragments of her art.
As she installed the prayer flags in various natural settings, Dwight Caswell documented each placement with beautifully composed color photographs. Later, he carried the flags on a journey to Tibet, where he installed them in the mountains and witnessed people responding to them in worship.
The book is the result of two artists sharing a vision, a passion, and a dedication to process, ultimately sharing their artwork with the world.
